Re: Trucluster and bind9

BIND9 is part of Internet Express CD(not on Tru64 OS CD's) See:

I don't believe bind.9 has been made TruCluster aware yet, and there are no patches for V9 on the itrc patch database.

Re: Trucluster and bind9

thats correct, bind9 is not trucluster V5.x aware. Please use the delivered version within trucluster.

Re: Trucluster and bind9

Delivered version is way too slow when must resolve external addresses, i mean nslookop or host works fine but application like mozilla are very very slow to resolve addresses. I compiled latest bind8 (8.4.4) which is trucluster aware but i had the same problem. I tried bind9 and works very well except it doesnt listen on cluster alias. I can force all users to use both (i have 2members cluster) single members IP address, but this is not a clean solution.

Re: Trucluster and bind9

if using an unsupported component, the cluster functionality will not be garanteed and so your system is unsupported in case of a problem!

Is this cluster the primary nameserver for the domain of your site, or is another system
primary and the cluster a caching-only server ?
