Trucluster member boot hang

Hi

We have a 2-node Trucluster with the following configuration

cpqds2_root# clu_get_info -full
Cluster information for cluster cpqdsclu1

Number of members configured in this cluster = 2
memberid for this member = 1
Cluster incarnation = 0xabc25
Cluster expected votes = 3
Current votes = 2
Votes required for quorum = 2
Quorum disk = dsk12h
Quorum disk votes = 1

Information on each cluster member

Cluster memberid = 1
Hostname = cpqds2
Cluster interconnect IP name = cpqds2-ics0
Cluster interconnect IP address = 10.0.0.1
Member state = UP
Member base O/S version = Compaq Tru64 UNIX V5.1B (Rev. 2650)
Member cluster version = TruCluster Server V5.1B (Rev. 1029)
Member running version = INSTALLED
Member name = cpqds2
Member votes = 1
csid = 0x10001

Cluster memberid = 2
Hostname = cpqds1
Cluster interconnect IP name = cpqds1-ics0
Cluster interconnect IP address = 10.0.0.2
Member state = DOWN
Member base O/S version = Compaq Tru64 UNIX V5.1B (Rev. 2650)
Member cluster version = TruCluster Server V5.1B (Rev. 1029)
Member running version = INSTALLED
Member name = UNKNOWN
Member votes = UNKNOWN
csid = UNKNOWN

We had a power outage in the datacenter.
Since then when we try to boot the cluster back on we can only boot one member of the cluster. When we attempt to boot the other member we get the error message
'CNX MGR: cannot form: quorum disk is in use. Unable to establish contact with members using disk.'

I have searched the Forum, I did not find anything relevant.

Thanks in advance for all your valuable suggestions.

Re: Trucluster member boot hang

Is it the case that only member 1 will boot, and member2 always hangs; or is it true that only one member will boot (whichever is first) and that the other member hangs?

If you're in the first scenario I would delete and re-add member 2 to the cluster.

If you're in the second scenario, it's a little less obvious (to me at least). You'll probably need to undertake one of the quorum disk repair procedures outlined in Chapter 4 of the Cluster Administration Guide, but none of the situations described in that document appear to match yours exactly.

That messages indicates a problem with the cluster interconnect. How the cluster nodes are connected, are you using a Memory Channel hub?

Ensure that the Memory Channel HUB is on and working, or check the cable connections.

Re: Trucluster member boot hang

Looks like it is cluster interconnect problem (99 %).
And what is your cluster interconnect?
In vino veritas, in VMS cluster

Re: Trucluster member boot hang

Yes its most probably interconnect issue.Did you check inteconnect connectivity.
If u using LAN try replug the wire.
And can u post output of clu_get_info -full
after your one member is up , and second is trying to have unsuccesful boot.
