add new machine trucluster

my friends,

dsk3 second member boot disk,
could I shutdown member2 and remove it physically from cluster,
and connect new one machine ES40 then boot it using dsk3 as cluster member,
please advise.

Re: add new machine trucluster

If you have a free disk, use the clu_add_member and configure a new boot disk for the ES40. Boot the ES40 and then remove the member2.

If don't, use the clu_delete_member and remove the member2. Then issue the clu_add_member again for the same disk and boot the ES40 using the genvmunix kernel.

We tried to boot an ES40 with an ES45 boot disk and did not worked, so, remove and recreate the member.

Re: add new machine trucluster

The clean way is:
1- Remove the member from the cluster with clu_delete_member
2- Power off and remove the machine
3- Connect the new one
4- From the other member (survivor) make a clu_add_member
5- Boot from the disk (recreated by clu_add_member). During the first boot the new kernel is compiled
