routed daemon

Hello

I have 2 node cluster (OS 5.1B).
Can I disable routed and gated daemon, so can I only use static routes for cluster alias routing.
If I can what is procedure to change that and what static routes should I use ?

Thanks

Re: routed daemon

Yes, you can do this in TruCluster V5.1B, but not in older versions. Briefly, you need to set the following in each member's /etc/rc.config:

GATED="no"
CLUAMGR_ROUTE_ARGS="nogated"
ROUTED="no"
ROUTED_FLAGS=""

And set up your static routes as usual in /etc/routes.

More information can be found in section 3.14 of the V5.1B Cluster Administration manual, which is well worth a read:

Re: routed daemon

Hello Martin

Ok, I find that document too.
After that, do I need to restart cluster, or just to kill routed servis (and gated). Do I need you change some startup skripts ...

Re: routed daemon

Edit the file, kill the daemon and run
#inetd -h

no need to change any startup script.
