DCOM ports- Bi-directional

Hi Team,

We were following the guide and read that

The DCOM protocol requires that the following ports are open: 135, 137, 138, and 139.
In addition it uses arbitrary ports between 1024 and 65535, but there are ways to restrict the
port range used by WMI/DCOM/RPC.

However, our network team wants to know if bi-directional access required for DCOM Ports?

Please advise.

Thank you.

Regards

Mathew

Re: DCOM ports- Bi-directional

Hi Mathew,

From my understanding, you dont need to use bi-directional acces required for DCOM ports, just config your firewall to permit incoming traffic from all clients to required ports on your server.

Best regards,

Hoang.
