Windows host discovery

[ Edited ]

Hello Everyone

I have ucmdb 8.02 on windows 2003 OS.
I am trying to discover windows boxes in my environments and I am able to get only few boxes. For some boxes I get the following error

"WMI: no agent on remote machine"

Is there any other way to discover windows, or installing WMI in the boxes is the only solution?

Re: Windows host discovery

"Host Connection by Shell" and "Host Connection by SNMP" jobs are your alternatives in case you don't have WMI installed on machines you want to discover.

Thanks Dmitry.

I have ssh credentials for my linux boxes. What kind of credentials do I need to give to discover the windows boxes via host connection by shell.

You need local admin permissions.
