uCMDB - discovery error

[ Edited ]

Hi,

I am trying to discover some windows servers.
But am stuck at the credentials testing part.
DDM is able to discover the IP and credentials were correct. It gave error "connection failed. Failed to connect to Wmi:RPC server not available". Any clue? Please help.

Thanks,
YV

Hi,

It gave error "connection failed. Failed to connect to Wmi:RPC server not available".

I have checked the Port 135 is open from the DDM probe to that server.

Any clue? Please help.

Thanks,

Re: uCMDB - discovery error

Hi,

"Connection failed. Failed to connect to Wmi:RPC server not available"

I would first navigate to Start Menu --> Programs --> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management --> Services/Applications --> Services: Check if Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service is started and set to Automatic.

Check if your WMI credential has been set up correctly with all the necessary permissions:

Start Menu --> Programs --> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management --> Services/Applications --> WMI Control --> Right Click and Properties.

On the security tab, expand root to display a list of namespaces.

If you have added the Discovery credential User to one of the namespace, select that and grant the following permissions:

Execute Methods

Enable Account

Remote Enable.

Repeat the above procedure to Root\Default namespace as well.

Let us know how it goes.

Dinesh,

Also ports 137, 138, 139 are used by WMI
