Error 7698451 - Aborted - unable to read data from the transport connection

Hello there,

suddenly all the VMExplorer backup schedulated on 1 of our 5 Esxi Server fail for every VM:

Error 7698451 - Aborted - unable to read data from the transport connection

The phisical host it's ok; no hardware fault.

VmeXplorer Server it's OK; the backup jobs goes fine on others vmware hosts.. (they are all VM 5.5 Esxi and have the same hardware and the same shared fiber storage)

I've tried also to start backup from another server but the problem remains.

Any idea?

Thank you

Re: Error 7698451 - Aborted - unable to read data from the transport connection

Hello,

Such problem can appear if there is some issue in connectivity to ESXi host or datastore. Please make sure that the datastore is always accessible while VM Explorer is performing a backup.

As a test, you can try to execute manual transfer of one of problematic VM on VM Explorer local drive

•On the machine on which VM Explorer is installed, open vSphere Client, connect to ESXi host
•Take a snapshot of one of the problematic VM
•From the Summary tab open the datastore browser
•Locate the file .vmdk file of problematic VM
•Download the file to a local folder of VM Explorer server
•The original disk size should be equal to downloaded size

If there is no issue with connectivity then I would suggest to log a support case along with ESXi logs and VM Explorer debug report.
