I have an HP Itanium Integrity Server(rx2660). I need to virtualize the server. However, I am totally new to this concept. I dont know what software/product to use. I found 4 things which could be useful:
The HP Partitioning Continuum for HP-UX 11i: Hard Partitions (nPars) - http://h20338.www2.hp.com/enterprise/us/en/os/hpux11i-partitioning-npartitions.html
The HP Partitioning Continuum for HP-UX 11i: Virtual Partitions (vPars) - http://h20338.www2.hp.com/enterprise/us/en/os/hpux11i-partitioning-virtual-partitions.html
HP Integrity Virtual Machines (Integrity VM) - http://h20338.www2.hp.com/enterprise/us/en/os/hpux11i-partitioning-integrity-vm.html
HP Insight Dynamics тАУ VSE for Integrity servers - http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/solutions/insightdynamics/vse-overview.html
Could you please help me understand which product to go with?
Thanks & Regards,
Aashish

Re: HP Itanium Partitioning
Though npar/vpar is supported, HPVM is a better option on that hardware. This is a small server that maxes out at 24 GB of ram.
HP Integrity Virtual Machines (Integrity VM) - http://h20338.www2.hp.com/enterprise/us/en/os/hpux11i-partitioning-integrity-vm.html
This is the right tool for the job.
npar/vpar is really aimed at huge superdome type servers.

Re: HP Itanium Partitioning
Well, my problem is that I also need to understand why I need to go with the specific product.
I would be very thankful to you if you could help me.
From what I could find out, I understand that nPars & vPars support only HP Integrity 'cell-based' servers.
And my server, rx2660 is not a 'cell-based' server?
Thanks & Regards,
Aashish
