Hi All,
I need to do an upgrade of VM Host running HP-UX 11i v2 and Integrity VM A.03.50. So, I followed the procedure given on HP's resources and got stuck on this particular problem.
I want to run this command "hpvmupgrade" to check for problems with guest OSes after the upgrade to HP-UX 11i v3 and VM 4.00. But, I cann't seem to find this command with my installed package.
Can somebody please guide me if I can use this utility with version 3.5 Integrity VM or not ? If I can, then how and do I need to install any new package or patch.
Regards,
Ashutosh Singh

Re: HP-UX Integrity VM Host upgrade (OS 11i v2 & VM A.03.50)
HPVM Install and Admin manual mentions that hpvmupgrade command is part of V4.X releases. You need to install VMGuestLib which can be downloaded from software.hp.com or from 11.23 Application Release DVD (Sep 2008 or newer).

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried to install the VMGuestLib, but it gave me the below output.

Re: HP-UX Integrity VM Host upgrade (OS 11i v2 & VM A.03.50)
I'm not sure which "4.0 version" you just upgraded to but I certainly hope it's v4.3 or you'll be needing to upgrade again pretty soon. Looking at section 4.1 of the latest release notes document:
Integrity VM Release Date Expected End of Support Date Current Status
Version
A.03.50 December 2007 Same as HP-UX 11i v2 Supported
B.04.20 March 2010 March 2013 Supported
B.04.20.05 September 2010 September 2013 Supported
B.04.30 March 2011 March 2014 Supported
The v4.2 and v4.2.5 releases are going EOSL next year, so hopefully you bought yourself some time by going to v4.3.

Dave
