Re: HPVM guest during installation, an alert occurs LVM warning
How is the NETAPP connected? FC or iSCSI?
Note that LVOL on iSCSI is not supported for backing store. See HPVM documentation.

Re: HPVM guest during installation, an alert occurs LVM warning
You may want to speak to netapp in that case.

Re: HPVM guest during installation, an alert occurs LVM warning
I suspect it's a problem of HPVM by:
I have others HP-UX 11.31 connected to Netapp3140 without problem.

Re: HPVM guest during installation, an alert occurs LVM warning
That article only generally points to performance hints and doesn't provide root cause.
You already are using AVIO.
I'd really speak to Netapp...

SolutionHi,
I solved the issue changing the following
1. Change the policy to cell locality based round robin as follows:
scsimgr set_attr -D /dev/rdisk/disk8 -a load_bal_policy=cl_round_robin;
2. And set preferred path:
scsimgr save_attr -D /dev/rdisk/disk8 -a load_bal_policy=preferred_path -a preferred_path=0/0/0/5/0/0/0.0x500a0983893b4a6b.0x4000000000000000;

Re: HPVM guest during installation, an alert occurs LVM warning
This suggests that the array's FW did not properly supply ALUA information
