Isssue w/ 11.23 vpar on 11.131 npar w/ sanboot

I am trying to install a 11.23 vpar (vpar2) / san boot. On an 11.31 npar which is on local disk.

I created the 1st vpar and from that vpar I boot vpar2.

vparboot -p vpar2 -I
then
cntrl - a
to switch

From there I get to the fc selection and choose.
after it loads the kernel I get the following error.

Console is on virtual console

Re: Isssue w/ 11.23 vpar on 11.131 npar w/ sanboot

>>I am trying to install a 11.23 vpar (vpar2) / san boot. On an 11.31 npar which is on local disk.

First some conflict on terminology.

An nPar does not have any OS !! An nPar is a harware partition contolled by the firmware.

If you are really doing vPars all vPars must be running the same OS version.

Now if you are doing Integrity Virtual Machines where a vGuest runs on a vHost then your vHost must be running 11.23 as 11.31 is not yet supported. The vGuests can run "any supported OS" ( 11.23, 11.31, Windows, Linux ).

Please start over and clarify what you are doing.

Re: Isssue w/ 11.23 vpar on 11.131 npar w/ sanboot

Just a clarification over the other reply. vPARs A.05.xx version supports running 11i v2 & 11i v3 vAPRs on the same vPAR monitor.

Re: Isssue w/ 11.23 vpar on 11.131 npar w/ sanboot

If your were running 11.31 on this system, you may have hyperthreading enabled - you need to turn it off if running 11.23 on the nPar.

I had to disable threading.
