SIM installation on HP VM host
Hi there,
I learnt that HP is not recommended to install any other application on HP VM host. But how about I install SIM server on a HP VM host, is there any conflict?
I am planning to setup one of the HP VM host to use VMMGR for managing all VM instances and capacity advisor.
Any comment?
Thanks,
Simon

Re: SIM installation on HP VM host
Depends on the free memory you have on your host after you create all your virtual machines, if you have spare memory there is no problem,it will work(I had it working for a couple of weaks on a vm host). but its not the best place to have it, as you say the recomendation is to leave the host alone. I moved the SIM server because theres allways preasure to create new virtual machines quickly and you end up using all the hosts memory.
Windows?, no thanks

Re: SIM installation on HP VM host
Shalom,
I see no problem with installing a server into a VM host. What is a Virtual Machine for after all.
There may be issues with VMMGR being in a VM machine versus a hardware machine.
