how to understand "backing devices" at VM?
guys,
I could not quite follow the concept "backing device" in th manual,

A backing device is another term typically used for storage device that a VM guest boots from or accesses data from. As an example, the VM Host can present a whole LUN to a VM guest as a backing device that the VM will boot from. The Host can also present an individual LVM logical volume as a backing device and have the guest boot from that.
