Re: setup virtualisation

At the moment HP Integrity Virtual Machines is only running on 11.23.
11.31 is not supported yet - be patient.

With 11.23 you should use the manual from the link above.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: setup virtualisation

Hi Mulder,

Right now you need to use the HP-UX 11.23 as 11.31 doesnot support virtualisation.

Then Follow the following steps:
1. Create a virtual switch using
#hpvmnet -c -S vswa -n 0
2.Create a Virtual machine
# hpvmcreate -P VM1 -r 10G -c 2
Then follow the document

Here's some documentation I wrote for training other admin here. Note it refers to our server names, etc., so change for your own. No guarantees....

Re: setup virtualisation

Please a question ,
is there an interface like an interface web to configure (create , display , modify ....) the VM guest or just by hpux command ?

.
Now i'm reinstalling the server with HPUX 11iV23 as you suggest .

Thanks for advices,

Re: setup virtualisation

I finish the hpux installation .

i see in the this software is required :

The Integrity VM release media kit contains the following software:
â ¢ T2767AC (the Integrity VM software bundle)
â ¢ VMProvider (allows you to use the HP Integrity VM Manager to manage the VM Host)
â ¢ HP-UX 11i V2 (the HP-UX 11.23 foundation operating environment [FOE] that is provided
for the VM Host system)
â ¢ PRM-Sw Krn (installed as part of the HP-UX FOE and required by Integrity VM)
â ¢ VMGuestLib (installed as part of the HP-UX FOE and required by Integrity VM)
â ¢ B8465BA (HP WBEM Services for HP-UX, installed as part of the FOE and required by
Integrity VM)

should download this software from HP website ?
or it's on OS DVD ?

thanks for advices,

Mulder

Re: setup virtualisation

Should all be on the install or appl. DVD, but if you download, you will probably get newer versions.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
