Hi,
I've a system with installed single vPar (HP-UX 11.31 Release March 2011 and vPars A.05.08), my question is :
Can I create another vPar with a lower Release of the OS (for example HP-UX 11.31 March 2010)?

Re: vPars creation
If you net the minimum requirements for your hardware - yes, you can, but vPars software must be the same.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: vPars creation
OK but I'm a little bit confused because according to the ReleaseNotes of A.05.08 March 2011 Release of the OE is a requisite! So is this means that in my case I can put only vPars with OS Release march 2011 (as you said vPar software must be the same version A.05.08)?

Re: vPars creation
While A.05.08 does need the OE mentioned it also supports mixing of minor version.
See vPars A.05.08 release notes:
"...
HP-UX Virtual Partitions now supports mixing different minor release of vPars. This enhances
the flexibility of using vPars software. This feature is available only on HP-UX 11i v3 vPars
version 05.05 and later
..."
So you can have one vpar running A.05.08 and other vpars with A.05.05 or higher installed.
