         We need HPE suggested firmware version for following devices

1. HPE 6802 Router

2. HPE 4945 switch 4slot switch

3. 5900AF switch

4. HPE  5710 switch

    Thanks for your response and it seems all are latest version. Is it ok? In general the uploading the version N-1 right, Could you clarify once again please?

Hi @Muthukumar1 !

In general latest versions contain most recent bugfixes, so I would stick to this strategy. However, taking into account a couple of recent cases I have been dealing with, I have to correct my recommendation for the 5710 - use R2612P08 instead of R2702. R2702 has some issues with QSFP transceivers, so stick to the R2612P08 for now.

For the rest of the devices I would stick to the latest versions. But reading release notes always helps - nobody knows your setup and requirements better than you.

1. IRF for HA

2. LACP for uplink connectivty between the devices(40GB QSFP Module)

3. BGP & Static Routing protocol

Hi team,

  when upgrading the software on HPE 5900 i am geting the following error

<HPE>tftp 192.168.100.2 get 5900_5920-CMW710-R2432P06.ipe
Invalid source address.

IP's reachable both side( Switch to TFTP server-Laptop &  TFTP server-Laptop to  Switch )

I have tried with Swith Mgmt port and assigened the ip for one of the vlan not vlan 1

I have tried to upload the software as standalone switch not IRF

Could you suggest on this.

It seems like you don't have any Vlan-interface configured with IP address and in UP state since it complains about source address.

Post here an output of following commands and I will check what can be the issue:

display ip routing-table
ping 192.168.100.2

Hi Team,

            Our plan is before start the configuraiton need to upogade the firmware version so no configuration. As of now ip address configured for Mgmt port for upgrade the firmware version but i have tried with one of the vlan too. Please find the output for your reference..

I confirm - M-GE is up and has an IP address assigned. Also the TFTP host is reachable by ICMP... Let's try this:

tftp 192.168.100.2 get 5900_5920-CMW710-R2432P06.ipe source ip 192.168.100.1
