Are there any legit reasons to allow multicast and broadcast at high rates?

I just managed to control a storm in our v1910 switch network by setting multicast and broadcast max rates to 1% on one tenant's port. And I thought maybe I should set that same limit on all leaf user ports?

Are there any legit reasons to allow higher multi- and broadcast rates?
It's a housing estate, and we share a 1Gb/s feed brotherly, with no bandwidth limiting or anything, beyond a requirement of having a nat router as the only connected device.

What bad things can happen if we limit BC and MC to about 1-10Mb/s on all ports connecting tenants?
