Maximum VLANs (8) on V1910-48G
Hello!
I just bought a V1910-48G and want to set it up at a company-hotel and all the companys should be on their own vlans. For the time being I have 19 vlans I want to set up.
Apparently this switch only support a maximum of 8 VLAN interfaces! Really weird, right now we have an old 3COM -switch that can manage these 19 vlans without any problems.
I have googled quite a bit and I've found a couple of threads that mentions the max-vlans command but that isn't recognised by my switch. Do this command only work on ProCurve -switches? If so, how can I raise the bar on the V1910? Because of course it is a software-limitation right now.
Thank you in advance!

The v1910 supports 256 vlan and 8 vlan interfaces. If you need more vlan interfaces you should be some other switch.

Re: Maximum VLANs (8) on V1910-48G
You only need vlan interfaces if you need to route between the vlans, and since the 1910 is primary a L2 switch and not a L3 switch, you need to do the routing elsewhere if you need more than 8 vlan interfaces.

Ok!
Do you know of any switch that meet my needs? Gigabit and 48 ports would be nice.

The 5500 series would be the smallest one with gig that supports that number of vlan interfaces.

Thanks.
