OS corrupted on 1920-8G - need to reload it

I have an HP 1920-8G (JG920A) that recently lost its mind; it only boots to the Extend-Bootware Menu, after saying that the config file is no good.  I tried using XModem to push a recent version of the OS (1920-8G-JG920A_5.20.R1121) to the device, which seemed to work until the next reboot, at which point it wouldn't boot up again and went to the EBM.  I need to know if the switch is formally borked or if I'm simply missing a step, or need to load and older OS to the device.  Thanks!

I should also note that I used the EBM to delete the corrupted conifg files from the flash memory.  I'm currnetly trying again to 'Download Application Program to SDRAM and Run' with the .bin file I have on hand (downloaded from HP).  I'm also downloading an ealier version (3 or 4 revs earlier) to see if that might work.
