V1910 Firmware doesn't work with 3Com branded switch
Hi -
I've been running 1910_5.20.R1513P06 on my 24 Port switch. When I attempt to install 1910_5.20.R1513P15,
1910_5.20.R1513P13 or 1910_5.20.R1513P07, the web management interface stops working.
Upon reboot, the management page displays:
{ } in the upper left corner.
Downgrading back to P06 works. but I can't go beyond that.
Command line through the console port still works, and the config isn't lost.
How do I upgrade to the current version of the firmware?
Thanks.

Re: V1910 Firmware doesn't work with 3Com branded switch
Interesting, haven´t had that one. But I know there are "branding" problems:
h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Switches-Hubs-Modems-Legacy-ITRC/V1910-stuck-on-firmware-rel-1108/td-p/5981207
If you boot the switch and look at the console output. What will it tell you after "3Com". Does it say "2928 SFP Plus" or "2952 SFP Plus" or will it show you the ex 3Com product number (i.e. 3CRBSG2893)?
If the last one is shown, I couldn´t get higher on those devices than release F1509

Re: V1910 Firmware doesn't work with 3Com branded switch
I'll take a look, thanks.
Is there any official HP answer for those of us stuck?
Also, I've found a new symptom/issue.... Attempting to change a port to a trunk causes the switch to reboot.
It happens multiple times, and the config is lost each time.
It's happened making other changes, but changing to a trunk port just about guarantees the switch will reboot.
Anyone else have this problem?
Any ideas on why, and how to fix?
Thanks!

Re: V1910 Firmware doesn't work with 3Com branded switch
Unfortunately it seems that this grave upgrade issue returned with recent HP 1910-48G Switch firmware release 1910_5.20.R1516 (14-Jan-2016). I upgraded my original 3com 3CRBSG5293 (JE009A) switch to version 1910_5.20.R1516 and now it seems bricked! The switch no longer boots up!!
Last working previous firmware is release 1910_5.20.R1515 (04-Nov-2015). It is confirmed that this one works perfectly also on 3Com branded switches, - unfortunately this information came too late for me.
I repeat my warning again; DO NOT UPDATE any original V1910 3Com firmware to HP version R1516!!!
Note, also other users can confirm this firmware upgrade problem. Only workaround seems to do a downgrade to version R1515: https://www.reddit.com/r/networking/comments/42k30p/bricked_a_lifewarrantied_3combranded_hp_v191024g/
Will check if this problem is covered under the standard lifetime warranty. If yes, I will send the whole switch back to HP. ;)

Re: V1910 Firmware doesn't work with 3Com branded switch
Hi,
I have the same problem that you have. Unfortunatly the warning came to late for me also. Switch stoped booting after the upgrade. May I know if you fixed the problem yet? I have another 3Com. I want to copy the bin file to the corrupt switch but since my knowledge is limited, I still have to find a way to upload the correct bin file to the corrupt switch. Do you have a seggestion on how to do that?
Thanks for your advice!

Re: V1910 Firmware doesn't work with 3Com branded switch
Hi Stefan1981,
connect serial to the console port. There you can see the switch boot sequence.
At one point you can enter the Extended Boot Menu by pressing Ctrl-B at that time.
Choose 2. Select application file to boot an
Choose 1. Set application file
The files in Flash are shown, the current Main-File ist marked with an (*).
Select the old firmware file as boot file and make its attribute to Main.
Then the switch reboots with the old firmware.

Re: V1910 Firmware doesn't work with 3Com branded switch
There's a new release 1910_5.20.R1517P01 posted on July 26, 2016.
As the release notes say the problem with not booting 3Com branded switch is solved.
I can confirm this release is properly working on a 3Com branded 3CRBSG2893 as I just
upgraded a 3Com Model which had the same problems with release R1516 ago.
You can find the release under "Previous Releases, 5.20.R15" ....(?!)

Yep I noticed that too.
Unitl few days ago the newest R1517 Firmware (first release is R1517P01) can be found within the "Previous Releases/5.20.R15" folder.
Notice that the latest R1516 Firmware (latest R1516P03, May 2016) didn't resolved the issue cited above.
But...now there is the new R1518 Firmware, just released two days ago.
The R1518 added fix for:
201604260220
Symptom: When an aggregate interface is disconnected, traffic is interrupted for 9 seconds rather than 6 seconds.
Condition: This symptom occurs if the LACP timeout interval is set to the short timeoutinterval on an interface and the aggregate link is disconnected.
