VLAN connection problem (Switch HP JE007A)

Hi,

i' ve two switch HP JE007A. I've configured both switch whit 2 VLAN (ID 2 and 3). I want to connect the VLAN 2 of the first switch whit the VLAN 2 of the second switch and VLAN 3 of the first switch whit the VLAN 3 of the second switch through two cables. If i connect only one cable i can se the device of the VLAN connected. If i connect both cables i can not see the device connected.

why?

Probably because spanning tree is blocking it.

Either use one cable for both VLANs, or configure MSTP.

Thanks for tha answare.

I've resolved the problem settng one switch as root and configuring the loop protection to all ports.

Can this solution  reduce the performance?

Well, if you have two links between the two switches, it is much better to use link aggregation (eg, LACP) so that both links are up simultaneously rather than STP blocking one of them.
