SolutionThree minutes (three minutes are equal to 180 seconds!) is pretty normal as a switch boot duration considering all the post-power-on steps a (smart) managed Switch - because that it is - must perform and pass to became fully operational.
Never measured...but, as example, HPE OfficeConnect 1920 Switch series shows similar timings or probably more!
If your customer is complaining without seeing exactly what the HPE OfficeConnect 1910 Switch does during its boot process...connect a console cable and show him the terminal strings passing during a power on: he will be able to see what is going on during the booting process and it will shut down his laments.
Also...please note that a Switch shouldn't be necessarily fast (which is a relative word) during boot: boot procedures should happen rarely because a Switch is built to run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a years - for years - and only planned reboots (or power outages) generates delays and network services interruptions, planned reboots are generally done during (software/hardware) maintenance...power outages are random if the Switch power is not supplied through a serious UPS...so, at the end, why complaining about such thing?
I'm not an HPE Employee
