v1810g switches and port activation too slow
We're experiencing a problem with newer SSD based Windows computers where the startup times are too fast for the network. The network connection does not appear to be initiating fast enough for the computers to receive software deployed through group policy. The deployment fails with an error message staying that the network location cannot be found. If we plug in a cheap home use switch inbetween the HP switch and the computer, the deployment will succeed.
With Cisco switches, you generally enable FastPort on the ports used for connected endpoint devices. On the HP switches, you would use the 'spanning-tree a1 admin-edge-port' command. However, this command does not appear to be available on the v1810g switches.
What do you suggest as a solution?
