DL380 G3 server

I just got me a DL380 G3 server. and i was wondering how i go about installing windows vista ultamate 64 bit version so that i can utalize the 12GIG of memory in it. any information would be great.

It's a 32-bit machine, so you cannot install Vista-64, you might try windows 2003 server enterprise edition (or even windows 2008 server enterprise edition if you're adventurous) ; You should start by acquiring 2 cds known as "smartstart" and "PSP"

Kory,

as mentioned, the G3 version of the DL380 is a 32 bit machine, not x64, you need a minimum of G4 for that.

You need the Enterprise Edition of a server OS like Windows 2003 to address this amount of RAM (more then 4 GB).

Windows 2008 isn't supported on the G3 generation of Proliant servers, it needs a x64 machine as a minimum.
