Enable VT in BIOS (ML110)

This is not a question but rather information to be shared with anyone using VMware with an HP ML110.
You can Enable VT in the bios by going to advanced processor features and enabling Intel Virutalization Technology.
I searched every setting in the bios to find it but I found it.

Re: Enable VT in BIOS (ML110)

Please raise a call at HP, i also got the issue with my ML310 G3. The CPU supports IVT but it seems that the bios firmware does not support this feature.

So if there are enough complaints and raised cases (elevation / eskalation) we might get HP to programm a new Firmware Version which are able to enable ivt support for the latest Pentium 4 Processors

Re: Enable VT in BIOS (ML110)

We use MS Virtual Server 2005 R2 for testing and training purposes.
When we needed x64 guests, we installed VMWare Server 1.0.6 next to VS2005.
In our ML110 2 options had to be enabled: VT and the NX bit (NoExecute).
But strangly after some days it stopped working, vmware complaining about VT support in CPU but not enabled. Only thing that worked: NX bit OFF.
But now we are caught in a cycle: whenever it stops working we have to set NX ON or OFF, depending on the current state just do it opposite.
BIOS date: plusminus jun 2007
