SQL2000 will not install on HP585 G2 with 2003 64 bit OS

We have installed SQL2000 (32bit) on a HP585 G1 cluster with 2003-R2 64 bit OS but when we try it using HP585 G2's it will not install.
We recieve the errors listed in KB815431.
The fix in the KB works with all our 2003R2 servers but not the new HP585G2's (Both G1 and G2 servers are Quad dual core, 32gb mem).

Difficult to say with so little information.

Just a long-shot: Are the G1 and G2 clusters configured identically with respect to "Internal only" and "All Comm" ?

The install just didnt work, same errors as listed in the MS-KB815431. After looking around we found that the 64 bit OS has an additional registry branch called WOWG432Node. This appears to be a subset of the hkey_local_machine\software above it and this is were 32 bit application entries are put. (?)thats the theory anyway.
We copied the named pipes info from the hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\mssqlserver\client\connectto key to the

hkey_local_machine\software\WOWG432Node\microsoft\mssqlserver\client\connectto
and the installation worked.
when you run cliconfg (KB815431) it put the intries in the top level not in the WOWG432Node section which I think is where the installtion program is looking.
All is fine so far.
