Secure Path under Windows Server 2003 x64

Hello, is there support now for secure path running on Windows Server 2003 x64?

here's my experience so far:

Hardware: Compaq DL585, 2 QLogic HBA, connecting to an MSA1500

Installed secure path 4.0c sp1.1.

The Secure Path Agent Service does not start - times out. I run the agent executable and get this error:

SetupDiEnumDeviceInterfaces failed: 103

Running the executables in the SpUtilx64 directory I get a Machine Type Mismatch.

Are these binaries only for the Itanium/Windows Server 64 bit edition? Is there/will there be a new distribution to include support for the x64 edition?

Thanks.

Re: Secure Path under Windows Server 2003 x64

update:

Spoke with Tim from support who let me know that Secure Path will eventually be sunsetted with MPIO in its place. Here's the link he gave me:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?locale=en_US〈=English+%28US%29&pnameOID=321354&prodSeriesId=321347&prodTypeId=12169&basePartNum=COL7608&locBasepartNum=co-22469-1&os=Microsoft+Windows+2000&tech=Software++Storage

I saw support for 64 bit itanium and 32 bit windows 2003 etc but nothing mentions x64. Will try them out but if anyone finds anything for x64, please let me know. Thanks.

Re: Secure Path under Windows Server 2003 x64

I'm also looking for an x64 SecurePath. I've installed Windows 2003 Enterprise x64 and all the relevant drivers I can find on the HP site. My DL585 can now see the LUNs that have been presented from the EVA3000, but it also sees (in device manager and disk management) other disks in the EVA.

Re: Secure Path under Windows Server 2003 x64

What about Microsoft's MPIO? Does it have any minimal capability to at least recognize multiple LUN WWN's and automatically present a single device (a la the Secure Path driver)? If so, what does it take to enable it?
Or is the only possibility (at least for now) to hard zone a single EVA port to the host's HBA?

Note: While I work for Hewlett Packard Enterprise, all of my comments (whether noted or not), are my own and are not any official representation of the company.

Re: Secure Path under Windows Server 2003 x64

That's the full MPIO for EVA 4000/6000/8000, not 3000/5000 or MSA 1000/1500. Those arrays are currently limited to Secure Path or basic MPIO.
