Unable to logon to windows 2003 after applying SP1.

Hi,

We recently applied SP1 on a windows 2003 ia64 server. After restart we are unable to login. After typing the correct username and password the "Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete to begin." dialog comes back again.

Please suggest.
Thanks & Regards.

Try loggin in from the Safe mode. Uninstall the service pack then try the normal boot. If this works, it is surely a problem of sp.

To goto safe mode, during bootup, hit the f8 button.

Are you sure you havent changed the password....

This is an unusual problem that is seen.

I hate to say this, but reinstallation is the only solution.

Do you have any other login on that machine.

Try and see if that works.
