Windows 2003 blue screen problem

Hi,

We are having an issue with DL380 installed with Windows 2003. The system pops up a Blue screen and reboots just before the "login" screen appears. If we disconnect the FC HBA connection, then it boots normal. The HBA is Emulex LP9200 and storage is an EMC box.

Can someone guide me how to troubleshoot such issue?

Re: Windows 2003 blue screen problem

hi

that is a DL380 generation? G1, G2, ...

so that happens every time you try to log in or sometimes you can log in fine?
also that is a w2003 fresh installation or the server was working fine?

steps
- I would recommend you, try swapping the HBA card to another PCI slot and check if happens the same
- update the firmware for the server
- also remove the HBA card and update the drivers using Proliant support pack

I would add the links for the firmware and proliant support pack but I don't know which generation is that server

if you tell me which server is that I can the links for those software

regards
Didn't your momma teach you to say thanks!

I had similar issue with NIC on 380 G3. Exchanging card fixed problem.

Re: Windows 2003 blue screen problem

It turned out to be problem with the FC cable. There was no FC linkup. The cable was changed.

Thank you for your replies.
