WHEA Logger Event 19 and 1

Hi

I'm getting WHEA Logger Events ID 19 (Warning) and now ID 1 (Error) caused by
Error Source: Corrected Machine Check
Error Type: Memory Hierarchy Error

But I am not confident that it is a hardware issue.

Did anybody apply Microsoft KB961080 to solve this issue on a Intel X5500 processor system (DL380 G6 with dual X5570)?

Best regards. Claudio.

Thank you for your answer.

Did you apply the KB961080 hotfix on such a system?
KB961080 mentions Core i7 Processors only. X5500 are the same architecture, but I don't want to take the risk.

Re: WHEA Logger Event 19 and 1

No, I didn't
We don't have such problem on our BL460 G6 servers
But X5500 CPU is "Nehalem", and Microsoft KB talks about this CPU architecture
And this KB hotfix is public, so I think you can install it without risk
Furthermore, you do daily backup, right ? :-)

Re: WHEA Logger Event 19 and 1

I'm witnessing the same thing with my Proliant DL160 G6 servers, sporting dual Nehalems 5520s. Getting this error and the machine just spontaneously reboots. It's running Win7 and has all the current windows updates (up to today 1/26/10). Any advice ?
