Steven,
now that the case is done you may *lock* the thread using the "close thread" button.
This will avoid "Mee-too" postings and it will add a lock icon to the thread which signalizes that the case is done.

IMO close a thread has nothing does not mean that someone was objecting to further posting.
Main thing IMHO is to signalize that a case is done.
And this is given here.
