Post-Production Service Pack for ProLiant 8.1 9-2018 full & custom bundle not completing download

The download for the Post-Production Service Pack for ProLiant 8.1 9-2018 is timing out after 99% downloaded and is not completing, causing a generic network error on the download and an unusable file.  The full 6GB bundle download and custom bundle download have the same issue.  I've also tried multiple browsers and over different ISPs.  Full and custom bundle downloads for the Current-Production Service Pack for ProLiant 9-2018 does not have this download problem.

Hello,

Could you kindly share the following details please:

1. What is the Model of server you're trying to install the SPP?

2. Did you download the SPP from the following link?

https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX_ff582daf008c4f529c4d6c28f6#tab3

3. Are you using the Inetractive mode or the Automatic option to install?

Booting the SPP from iLO virtual media is only supported in Automatic Firmware Update mode. Users attempting this in any other mode may experience stops responding from connection timeouts, difficulties updating iLO firmware, and mouse syncing issues.

Re: Post-Production Service Pack for ProLiant 8.1 9-2018 full & custom bundle not completing dow

Hello,

I have the same problem. Neither my custom build nor the "SPP Gen8.1 + Supplements" link on the "Service Pack for ProLiant Gen8.1" page (https://spp.hpe.com/custom/#/sources/YnAwMDI5OTAuMTUxMDkzNDk5NQ) can be downloaded successfully. Both make it to some random percentage of completion, but they always fail.

I tried different browsers (IE 11, Firefox 63) and different sites for downloading (home and work), but to no avail.

According to this thread (https://community.hpe.com/t5/ProLiant-Servers-ML-DL-SL/spp-download-failed/td-p/7009846), a very similar problem was or still is existing for other users.

For the sake of completeness: the server model on which I would like to install the SPP is a DL380p Gen8.

[Update]
Using the link you provided (https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX_ff582daf008c4f529c4d6c28f6#tab3), I was able to download the full SPP for Gen8. Thank you!

Still, I'd very much like to be able to download custom builds, too - since they're easily only a fifth or less in size of the full SPP.

When creating a Custom image bundle, kindly select the 'Bootable iSO (SUM Included) option

Then in the next page, select the filters as required.

Kindly ensure that the update is performed using the Automatic update. Additionally, try running the HP SUM from the OS . If still any concern, I would request to log a HPE Support case for further troubleshooting.

Re: Post-Production Service Pack for ProLiant 8.1 9-2018 full & custom bundle not completing dow

Hello All,

The issue is not with installing the Service Pack for Proliant software, but completing the file download from HPE on any web browser.  This only occurs for the "Post Production" tier Service Pack for ProLiant Gen8.1 for both the full SPP download (5.44GB) and any custom SPP download with/without options being checked off.  The download always stops around ~95% and all bytes stops transferring.  This download problem doesn't occur with any of the "Production" tier SPP whether it's the full ISO or a custom SPP.
