How do you get to a HP service in the US or Canada?
I have had two ocassions to call HP about service. I have a 3 year contract and my d4790y is less than 6 mo old. My problem has been that system restore would not work if any changes had been made to my system such as a microsoft vista update. Both times Tech could not understand my English or what the problem was. They did not have a clue about what to do. After talking for several hours and getting close to have a stroke due to frustration I gave up. Their final answer to my problem was "yes thats the way restore works, if big changes have been made it will not restore".

Solution
Joe,
Their comment about if big changes have been made it will not restore sounds like bull to me.
Assume you've been talking to HP? If not, you can get to the US and Canadian contacts here:
http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/wwcontact_us.html
Failing that, just email the boss directly. I've done this once. Response was slow (2 weeks), but I actually got a phone call from a knowledgeable HP employee that resolved my problem.

Re: hp service in the US or Canada
Thanks Pat. Yes I have been trying to talk to HP but not getting to the right people. Your reply should be a big help.
