Re: Guess who won 5 CRN 2018 Products of the Year Awards. You!

2018_CRN_POTY.PNGOk. So to be completely, totally, scrupulously honest, the awards were actually given to HPE. But you – our partners and customers – are the real winners. The awards mean that across servers, storage, and software, you now have access to solutions that have proven their ability to deliver exceptional results as rated by experts who know the technologies and the marketplace.

What’s it all about?

The CRN Products of the Year Awards are well respected throughout the industry for their ability to identify outstanding solutions in IT. Each year, a panel of CRN Editors selects 5 eligible products as finalists in each of 22 different product categories. The finalists are chosen based on feedback provided by solution providers over the course of the year for the products in the following subcategories:

  1. Technology
  2. Revenue and profit potential
  3. Ability to fulfill customer demands

The resulting pool of finalists becomes the basis for a web-based survey fielded in September/October 2018 to a targeted list of solution providers drawn from the partner communities of the finalist product vendors. This year, the survey received over 3,600 responses. The finalist product receiving the highest overall score in each product category was named the Overall Winner in that category.

Where you (and HPE) came out winners

Five HPE product offerings were either overall winners or subcategory winners in the CRN 2018 Products of the Year Awards. The following products were overall winners in their respective categories:

HPE OneView 4.1 won the overall Enterprise Software category and was also the highest rated in the “Revenue and profit potential” subcategory. HPE OneView takes a software-defined, programmatic approach to managing infrastructure with efficient workflow automation, a modern dashboard, and a comprehensive partner ecosystem. As a result, it can help enterprises deploy infrastructure faster, simplify lifecycle operations, and increase productivity.

The ProLiant DL325 Gen10 won in General Purpose Servers and also dominated the “Technology” subcategory. This secure and versatile single-socket (1P) 1U AMD EPYC™ based platform offers an exceptional balance of processor, memory and I/O for virtualization and data intensive workloads.

The overall winner in Midrange Storage was the HPE Nimble Storage Adaptive Flash CS1000. It also scored highest in the “Revenue and Profit” and “Customer Demand” subcategories. The HPE Nimble Storage Adaptive Flash Arrays are like having two flash arrays in one. The array is truly adaptive – designed for both primary and secondary flash workloads. It is a hybrid flash array for mixed, primary workloads where cost-efficient flash performance is important. The flash-enhanced architecture is combined with HPE InfoSight predictive analytics for fast, reliable access to data and 99.9999% guaranteed availability.

The following were winners in specific subcategories:

HPE 3PAR StoreServ 20000 was the winner in the “Technology” and “Revenue and Profit” subcategories under the Enterprise Storage category. The HPE 3PAR StoreServ family of flash-optimized data storage systems modernizes your data center to handle unpredictable workloads effortlessly, and HPE has the only storage smart enough to guarantee 99.9999% data availability.

HPE SimpliVity 2600 won the “Technology” subcategory in the Hyperconverged Infrastructure category. The HPE SimpliVity 2600 delivers the agility and economics of the cloud with the control and governance of on-premises IT. This solution dramatically simplifies IT by combining infrastructure and advanced data services for virtualized workloads onto the bestselling server platform in the market.

Why you win

These awards make winners of both HPE partners and customers, thanks to the three subcategories of judging: m, w high 5.jpgTechnology addresses product quality and reliability, plus richness of product features/functionality, technical innovation, compatibility and ease of integration

  • Revenue and Profit speaks to demonstrated ability to drive new revenue
  • Customer Demand focuses on the demonstrated ability to meet a market or customer demand, as well as the ability to create new customer relationships or improve existing ones

As either an HPE partner or customer, you win by being able to sell or acquire solutions that have proven their ability to help you reach your business goals. Definitely a win all the way around.
