Simplify Hyper-Converged Infrastructure on HPE Servers w/ Windows Server 2019 & Windows Admin Center
Powerful IT doesnโt have to be complicated. Hyper-convergence puts entire virtualized infrastructure and advanced data services into one integrated powerhouse.
Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) allows organizations to consolidate virtualization components such as compute, software defined storage, and networking on a single set of cluster nodes to simplify IT while improving performance, scalability, and reliability.
To learn more about how HCI solutions provide SMBs with solutions that are affordable and agile and how HPE and Microsoft are working together to help customers take advantage of HCI, check out our recent Coffee Coaching blog and video, โForm Unprecedented Hyper-Converged Infrastructure with HPE Gen 10 Servers + Windows Server 2019โ
Windows Server 2016 Datacenter introduced many new hyper-converged features that helped make software-defined storage a reality for many SMBs. Now, new technology introduced in Windows Server 2019 enhances these capabilities for faster time to value for HCI with Windows Admin Center.
Windows Admin Center is a customer-deployed, browser-based app for managing serves, clusters, and HCI. It simplifies the daily management of HCI deployments based on Microsoft Hyper-V, Microsoft Storage Spaces Direct, and HPE ProLiant Gen10 Servers that have been validated through the Windows Server Software-Defined (WSSD) or Solutions for Microsoft Azure Stack HCI programs. This elegant, lightweight, browser-based platform converges resource visibility and management, plus Azure integrationโand is available as a free download from Microsoft.com.
Windows Admin Center enables customers to leverage HCI with radically simple workflows to create and manage volumes, Virtual Machines (VMs), and much more. It features a powerful monitoring dashboard that graphs critical metrics in real-time, across every server in the cluster, with clear alerts when something is not right.
While Windows Admin Center is optimized for Windows Server 2019 to enable key themes in the Windows Server 2019 release (such as hybrid cloud scenarios and hyper-converged infrastructure management), customers can also use Windows Admin Center to manage Windows Server 2016 and 2012 R2.
As customers move to incorporate software-defined data center (SDDC) technologies into the IT, HPE and Microsoft have them covered. HPE Solutions for Microsoft Azure Stack HCI offer a choice of ready-to-go, validated, solution configurations. These solution configurations are based on specific HPE servers and components, which are tested and validated with Windows Server Datacenter Storage Spaces Direct to deliver reliable, solid performance, and high-availability for HCI.
