Re: Streamline AI Workloads with HPE & NVIDIA
By Andrew Taylor, AMS Alliance Manager, HPE
Andrew Taylor is the Alliance Manager responsible for the overall relationship with NVIDIA for the Americas region. He specializes in datacenter solutions and AI workloads.
Streamline AI Workloads with HPE & NVIDIA
Hewlett Packard Enterprise has teamed with NVIDIA on a breakthrough โas-a-serviceโ solution for AI deployment.
HPE has come together with NVIDIA to accelerate the speed at which developers can build high-performance data analytics. Through open and secure HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform organizations can get a unified cloud experience and operating model for their AI/ML workloads across data centers, co-locations and the edges. HPE GreenLake is the premier provider of the cloud outside the public cloud and is fully invested in making Nvidia AI available โas a serviceโ. Recently HPE announced that NVIDIA AI Enterprise software suite now available on HPE GreenLake (https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2022/06/28/hpe-greenlake-edge-to-cloud/ ), reducing risk and optimizing costs by delivering NVIDIA AI as a service. By simplifying IT operation, HPE GreenLake helps the organizations manage performance, cost, security, and compliance of their data across the hybrid cloud.
By running NVIDIA AI Enterprise on HPE GreenLake, customers can accelerate their AI journeys on a pay-per-use basis while enjoying the flexibility to scale up or down depending on their consumption patterns. The software is fully supported by HPE and NVIDIA, ensuring robust operations for enterprise AI deployments.
AI is Transforming Everything
AI is dynamically shifting the way every industry tackles the numerous challenges they are facing, from improving customer relationships, streamlining supply chains, to delivering new outcomes and solutions. Every organization understands the importance of investing in AI, but they are challenged in finding the right strategy and solution to bring AI-based products to market. In fact, Gartner reports that 85% of AI and machine learning projects fail to deliver, and only 53% of projects make it from prototype to production.
The most common reason for this low success rate is that enterprises go on their AI journeys alone. The AI ecosystem has grown immensely, with innumerable companies selling a transformative solution and then leaving customers to deploy it by themselves. HPE with NVIDIA are countering this trend. We walk side by side with our customers on their AI journeys. Our customers can tap into the assistance and knowledge they need to complete their AI projects, while accelerating their ability to be competitive in the market.
Key Enabling Technologies
The solution consists of four key building blocks.
NVIDIA AI Enterprise Suite
This end-to-end, cloud-native suite of AI and data science applications and frameworks are optimized and exclusively certified by NVIDIA to run on VMware vSphereยฎ with NVIDIA-Certified Systems. It includes key enabling technologies and software from NVIDIA for rapid deployment, management, and scaling of AI workloads in the modern hybrid cloud and is licensed and supported by NVIDIA.
VMware vSphere with Tanzu
This industry-leading virtualization platform runs more than 70 million workloads across hundreds of thousands of organizations worldwide. It transforms bare-metal servers (including CPU- and GPU-based resources) into centrally managed AI and ML infrastructure pools. Enterprises use VMware vSphere to create an agile, efficient, resilient, and intrinsically secure infrastructure platform that supports existing workloads and next-gen applications such as AI. They can also expect to:
- Optimize performance
- Increase availability
- Tighten security
- Streamline maintenance
- Reduce costs
VMware vSphere has been enhanced to optimally run the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software suite leveraging NVIDIA Ampere architecture-based GPUs.
NVIDIA-Certified Systems
The NVIDIA AI Enterprise suite is certified to run on NVIDIA-Certified Systems, which are optimized for the best performance on GPU-accelerated workloads, as well as validated for key capabilities in manageability, scalability and security. The certification validates servers with the following:
- NVIDIA Ampere architecture-based GPUs such as the NVIDIA A100 Tensor Core GPU. The Tensor Core technology included in the NVIDIA Ampere architecture brings dramatic speedups to AI operations, reducing training time from weeks to hours and providing massive acceleration to inference.
- NVIDIA ConnectX SmartNICs and the NVIDIA BlueField data processing unit (DPU) provide a host of software-defined hardware engines for accelerating networking and security. These enable the best of both worlds: best-in-class AI training and inference performance, with all the necessary levels of enterprise data privacy, integrity, and reliability.
HPE ProLiant DL380 and DL385 Servers
HPE ProLiant DL380 and DL385 servers are adaptable for diverse workloads and environments. These secure 2P 2U servers deliver world-class performance with the right balance of expandability and scalability.
- Supreme versatility and resiliency
- Backed by comprehensive warranty
- Ideal for multiple environments, from containers to cloud to big data
HPE ProLiant is the preferred choice to standardize your AI workloads on the industryโs most trusted compute platform.
Join HPE at NVIDIA GTC
Learn more about this exciting solution at NVIDIA GTC, the developer conference for the era of AI and the metaverse. Terry Chiang, HPE Ezmeral MLOps Product Manager, and Jeroen Bronkhorst, HPE GreenLake Domain Lead AI, will take our attendees through the latest innovations in AI model lifecycle management. In this discussion, HPE will cover the business outcomes of AI, as well as the six steps to building a powerful AI engine: 1) data preparation, 2) model building, 3) model training, 4) model deployment, 5) model inference, and 6) model monitoring. Taking these key steps to deploying AI workloads will ensure a successful journey and a highly competitive operation.
