ES40 console still reporting fan failed after replacement

I have recently replaced System Fan#3 on an AlphaServer ES40. Is there another method to clear the error other than >>>clear_error all
at the console prompt? It does not go away after a power off and on. What else to check?

Hi Matthew,

-The ES40 Server Could Give you the Error After Replacement of Fan . Incase the Slot is Faulty

- Try Swapping the Fan In Slot 3 With Slot 4 & Check if the Error Goes

- At the prompt do a clear_error_all and power cycle the system.
If this doesn't resolve the error Swap PCI backplane as fan logic must be at fault.
