Customer wish to receive warning-minor-mayor-important alerts through email from Alletra.

Hi,
Customer is interested in getting mayor, minor, warning events by email from alletra.
I have been reviewing the configuration that customer has performed in alletra side, and he has configured as SMTP server as "smtp.office365.com"  . I think that this is not going to wok, because smtp.office365.com is not going to relay messages from alletra system since that alletra is not configured as an authorizes server in SMTP server for been able to relaying messages. is that true?
thanks
Jose Miguel.

Hi,

This can be done using exchange SMTP relay.

Please refer the steps in https://infosight.hpe.com/InfoSight/media/kb/active/sup_KB-000009_Exchange_SMTP_Relay.whz/index.html#htr1455131681869.html

Hi, Thanks for your answer.

I have beein seeing the link you sent me and I have some doubts.

For implementing this configuration we need to enable TLS through the command setauthparam. Does this command will have any other consecuences in the Alletra?.
Also with TLS enabled, certificates will be used. Do we need to install any certificate in allletra for this purpose?

Thanks

Jose MIguel.

 I just did check
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/need-ssl-certificate-of-smtpoffice365com-to-used/b67ec542-b5e1-4564-98fb-72b6f51675d6

It says,

TLS/SSL Certificates: Office 365 uses public root certificates (such as DigiCert), which are trusted by most systems. If your system does not recognize these by default, you might need to ensure the root and intermediate certificates are installed on your Oracle server. In most cases, however, this is not necessary for cloud-based services like Office 365.

With that, Nimble OS running 5.2.x and later versions, does have Mutual Trust Feature and should be able to recognize the public root certificate of Office 365. So I don;t think, we need to install a separate SSL certificate. (I am not sure to be honest, have not tested SMTP relay in realtime.)

If you face any difficulties  doing it, please feel free to create a support case by mentioning serial number of the array. We can assist you over a zoom session and troubleshoot any issues realtime.
