2530-24G won't power down?

Hi,
We have a Procurve 2530-24G and when you pull the power cord, it keeps running.
Do they have some kind of internal battery?
Thanks,
DW.

Really? Power cabled removed...and the unit is still running? Are you sure?

Yes, it's crazy, even scarey, we don't know what to make of it here, but three of us were standing in front of it and saw it, the power plug was out for several minutes and it continued to run.  We plugged it back in, because it's in production.  Did we maybe not wait long enough?  My experience with these switches is they shut off as soon as the cord is pulled?

Re: 2530-24G won't power down?

AFAIK disconnecting AC power plug on a Switch without any form of Redundant Power Supplies (and HP 2530 hasn't any RPS feature), generally speaking, causes a nearly instantaneous power down...at best power supply's capacitors, if correctly rated, can sustain for a fraction of second - or a second, not more - the entire power load (switch backplane and fans, if any) while the AC is removed.

Maybe there is an UPS hidden somewhere and you're detaching the wrong power cable... 8-)
