5412zl v2 - Crash Task='mDsnoopCtrl'

Hi together,

in the last weeks we have multiple times that one of oure 5412zl v2 Switches crashed with the same Crash Message.

System went down: 02/13/20 08:04:13
Saved crash information:
NMI event SW:IP=0x0e96cc70 MSR:0x02029200 LR:0x0e96cc70
cr: 0x42000400 sp:0x1e473f60 xer:0x00000000
Task='mDsnoopCtrl' Task ID=0x1e470c10

I 02/13/20 08:04:14 03006 system: AM1: Reason for system reboot: Self reset
M 02/13/20 08:04:14 00064 system: AM1: NMI event SW:IP=0x0e96cc70 MSR:0x02029200 LR:0x0e96cc70
I 02/13/20 08:04:14 00063 system: AM1: System went down: 02/13/20 08:04:13

So i think it was always the same time (around 8:00 AM), when the switch is crashing in the last week.

In the crash-data i see the following line:

Memory: Used/Size or
Task Id Status Pri Stack:HiWater/Size Time Task Name
------------ ---------------- --- --------------------- ------- ---------

*0x3fafa000 running 165 0x00000acc/0x00002780 100.00% mDsnoopCtrl

Is this a memory leak by the dhcp-snooping? Have anybody seen this bevor or any tips to deal with this issue?

Best regards,

Jesse

Well, the KB.16.02.0010 (August 2016) software version was released about 4 years ago. That's an important detail to consider.

Your one could be a fault that deserve an RMA or maybe a bug solved in a newer release.

Have you ever planned to update to latest KB.16.02.0028 (October 2019). The KB.16.02.0028 is the latest of KB.16.02 software branch...you can eventually move to other (newer) maintained KB software branches, such as - currently - KB.16.10, KB.16.09 and KB.16.08.

See here.
