Hello,
I need help in configuring VLAN on my Procurve 2650.
I have:
Switch ProCurve 2650:
port 14 - PC#1
port 19 - PC#2
port 23 - PC#3
I need to configure 2 VLANs:
VLAN1001 - for PC#1
VLAN1002 - for PC#3
And PC#2 must be connected to both VLANs.
I did:
On the switch: created 2 VLANs:
1001 (VLAN1001) and 1002 (VLAN1002)
So, on switch:
DEFAULT_VLAN (Primary) ID=1 all ports "untagged", except 14,19,23 - they are "No"
VLAN1001 ID=1001 all ports "NO" except: 19 - "tagged"; 14 - "untagged"
VLAN1002 ID=1002 all ports "NO" except: 19 - "tagged"; 23 - "untagged"
on PC#2 (NIC INTEL with extended driver with VLAN support)
created VLAN1002 (ID=1002) with IP address 10.1.3.2 (mask 255.255.255.0)
and created VLAN1001 (ID=1001) with IP address 10.1.2.2 (mask 255.255.255.0)
on PC#1 (NIC INTEL with extended driver with VLAN support)
created VLAN1001 (ID=1001) with IP address 10.1.2.1 (mask 255.255.255.0)
on PC#3 (NIC INTEL with extended driver with VLAN support)
created VLAN1002 (ID=1002) with IP address 10.1.3.1 (mask 255.255.255.0)
But I have no any connection!
PC#1 and PC#3 are not pingable
PC#2 and PC#3 are not pingable
What is wrong?
Thank you

Re: about creating VLAN on Procurve 2650
What is routing the subnets? Do you have a router upstream of the switch.
If not, at the minimum you will need to enable "Routing" on the 2650.
If you using tagged ports, you will need to make sure that Port 19 is tagged in both VLAN 1001 and 1002.
Port 14 will need to be tagged for VLAN 1001
Port 23 will need to be tagged for VLAN 1002

SolutionHence PC#2 can diffentiate between the vlan's.
On PC#1 and #3 you also configured vlans, but you send the packets untagged!
VLAN1001 ID=1001 all ports "NO" except: 19 - "tagged"; 14 - "untagged"
VLAN1002 ID=1002 all ports "NO" except: 19 - "tagged"; 23 - "untagged"
So you either configure the switch to send tagged packets to port 14 and 23, or reconfigure PC#1 and #3 not to be vlan-aware.
