How to setup your network

Hi!

I have a network of 400 computers and a few servers. The switches are Procurve 8200zl Core, Procurve 2600 and 2910. What is the best way to setup the switches to have the best performance. Should i connect my servers to the core switch?

Thanks.

That is a bit of a vague question, but yes, it is usually a good idea to connect your servers as close as possible to the core, or to the core itself. Use aggregation groups (LACP) to increase the bandwidth to each edge switch. the 2600 is an older switch (mostly 100Mb ports?) - use the 2910 switches in preference for 1Gb devices.

It would be best if you can post your design so other can see what you got going and maybe help you correct what's needed.

One thing I've realized over the years is that people are willing to assist but not doing the work for you.
