HPE 2530 et FORCE10 CORE

Hello,

I have  4 switchs HP 2530 to connect with 2 links SFP+  optical fiber on a Core network Forces 10 Dell made up of 2 CORE. Which is best topology to be implemented

CORE1 -> SW1 ->SW2 ->SW3 -> SW4 ->CORE2

or

CORE1&2 -> SW1 ->SW2 ->SW3  ->SW4

Thanks

Re: HPE 2530 et FORCE10 CORE

I'd go for:
CORE1 -> SW1 ->SW2 ->SW3 -> SW4 ->CORE2
assuming Core1 and Core2 are interconnected, a ring is formed, and a power outage on single switch will not render other switches useless

Re: HPE 2530 et FORCE10 CORE

I'm plum for...

CORE1 -> CORE2 (link the cores)

and

CORE1 -> SW1 -> SW2 -> SW3 -> SW4 -> CORE2

  • Make sure that you enable spanning-tree and position the STP root bridge on core 1, with a backup on core 2.
  • Run VRRP between the core switches to handle routing failover.

Or even patch each 2530 independently to both Cores. (Same comments about spanning tree root and backup apply)

Re: HPE 2530 et FORCE10 CORE

Core1&2 are link (not stack)

VRRP is enable

but can you give me the syntax to position Rootbridge en core 1 and backup on core2 ?

Thanks
