STP Config tbetween Cisco and Procurve

Hello,

I am working on a project to deploy Cisco switches in an HP Procurve environment. Currently, there is a Procurve E8206zl as the Core switch with STP being disabled. I am planning on connecting a new Cisco Core switch, with PVST+ enabled and the Bridge priority is set is 4596., to the E8206. My question is if STP on the E8206zl is disabled, will this switch have a default bridge ID? If so, what is it and what command can I use to view it?

Much appreciated.

Best, ~zK

Re: STP Config tbetween Cisco and Procurve

default bridge ID is 32768.  (see config for spanning tree related commands)

However, when stp is disabled, the switch does not participate in spanning tree, so there's no need to worry about it's bridge ID.
Note: For best Cisco-HP interoperability, consider using MSTP instead of PVST+
