Re: Switch Local Password Store and Hash

1. Somewhere on the inside of the switch :) Why do you want to know this?

2. MD5 (that should be in the manuals)

Re: Switch Local Password Store and Hash

1. I did read this somewhere in a manual a while ago, but for the life of me cannot find it to reference. But if memory serves my correct the passwords are stored in a NVRAM bank seperate from the startup-config NVRAM.

2. Either MD5 or SHA-1. SHA-1 is used when encrypting credentials, so I would assume that the password encryption built in would be the same. But I can not find any documentation specifying the exact algorithm used.
