Hello,
We intending to parches 3x 2910al-48G switch 2 of the switches will reside in different floor about 10~13 meter distance from each other.
my question is would it be wise to use the CX4 module (j9165a) with 15m CAT7 cable or should i used different like SFP+ etc... module?.
please advice,
Thanks In advanced

Solutionthis is the cheapest way for a 10 Gig link. But keep in mind that you need a special CX4 cable - Cat7 copper cable cannot be used. The bundle J9165A only includes 0,5 meter CX4 cable.
A fiber connection would be more expensive, but more flexible in terms of cable distance.
Cheers,
Michael

HP BladeSystem c-Class 15m 10-GbE CX4 Cable Option (444477-B27) - Specifications
but in assumption that would fit my length need , my question is would it be possible that in such length i might loos performance or could have some connection issues?.
Thanks

Re: using cx4 module with procurve 2910al-48G
for 10GBase-CX4 transceiver you can use the mentioned 15m cable. There is no impact on performance.
Cheers,
Michael
