Have you checked on the Microsft.com web site? They may have fonts available - I know for example that they have made the Euro symbol available. I had a quick look, searching on french and font.

There are a lot of places on the internet to download free fonts. Try shareware.com or fontsmart.com.

You can also go to yahoo.com, click on Computers & Internet, Software, etc.
