4Gb Virtual Connect FC Module & Brocade ISL Trunking...
Hi,
Quick question... Does (can) the 4Gb VC FC module make ANY use of ISL trunking?
I am not sure if there is any benefit in purchasing a HP B-Series SAN switch with the 'Power Pack' option if the VC FC modules don't support ISL trunking...
Anyone tried this?
Cheers
Martin

Re: 4Gb Virtual Connect FC Module & Brocade ISL Trunking...
hello,
In VC manager You can choose how many uplink ports (1-4) to use to connect fabric. If You choose 2, connections are divided to both fibers. What You need is NPIV support from your core switch.
portcfgshow
Trunk Port ON
Long Distance OFF
VC Link Init OFF
Locked L_Port OFF
Locked G_Port OFF
Disabled E_Port OFF
ISL R_RDY Mode OFF
RSCN Suppressed OFF
Persistent Disable OFF
NPIV capability ON
Mirror Port OFF
