BL860c NIC's

The integrated NICs on a bl860c blade are described in the Quick Specs as; "Standard Gigabit Network Adapter ports", and the uplinks on the VC ethernet module are also described as "1Gb".

Does this mean that they will not be able to communicate with a switch which is not Gigabit capable? i.e. they can't autonegotiate down to 100Mb?

Dave.

Re: BL860c NIC's

I don't think there is a "only" 100Mbit switch available for the blade chassis, but anyway, they will auto-neg.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: BL860c NIC's

Sorry, I should have been specific. The IC modules are VC Ethernet. The switches I was refering to are the Network Switches.

I think if you are using VC ethernet module they should Auto neg to 100MB External Switch.
